Words From The Elders

Matthew 7:21-23

New International Version

True and False Disciples

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

What can cause a person to never be known by Christ? There are actions that can cause one to be separated from God's family, but to never be known, even while someone thinks they are followers, what can cause that?

It is my opinion that to be known & a part of God's family, one must be a baptized believer. That act allows one to be adopted into the family. After that, it can't be said that Jesus never knew you. I believe this scripture is teaching that many will be following Christ's teaching, but will not be recognized by Jesus because they were never adopted into the family. What a sad situation!

It is our goal to teach & baptize as many people as possible. After that, they will be known by Jesus & will be judged good & faithful, if they in fact live the best Christian life possible.

Please don't skip this very important step on your Christian journey.
